灯屋も大変お世話になっております竹工芸研究家、蒐集家の斎藤正光氏のコレクション展が11月21日㈮より、日本橋の中長小西さんにて開催されます。

長年日本の竹工芸の魅力の国内外で拡められてきた功績は言うまでもなく、斎藤さんご自身の愛蔵品のみの展示は初めてだそうです。

主に大正―昭和期に制作された、技量、意匠、素材全てが珠玉のミュージアムピースばかり。　飯塚鳳斎、琅玕斎等の名工に加え、近年益々人気の横田峰斎の作品群は必見です！

The exhibition of Masamitsu Saito’s bamboo art collection will be held at Nakacho Konishi in Nihombashi from Nov. 21,  Saito is a prominent bamboo craft researcher and collector and he is so much known for his longstanding contributions to Japanese bamboo art both domestically and internationally. This will be the first exhibition showing only Saito’s own collection.

Many of the baskets are museum-quality pieces in terms of craftsmanship, design, and materials that were made in the Taisho and Showa periods mainly. Not only masterpieces by renowned artisans like Iizuka Hōsai and Rōkansai, but also the works by Yokota Hōsai who has become popular in recent years are absolutely must-see!
